Contractueel wetenschappelijk medewerker – 100% van een opdracht voor de uitvoering van het IWT -tetra project 80109: “Ontwikkeling en toepassing van Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs) in mycotoxinediagnostica”

Taakomschrijving:
Vervolging van het lopende project (gestart op 1 januari 2009), waartoe behoren:
- Literatuuronderzoek met betrekking tot het projectonderwerp
- Optimalisatie van de extractieprocedure van fumonisine uit maïsproducten via solid-phase extractie
- Ontwikkeling en validatie van een sneltest voor fumonisinedetectie
- Resultaatverwerking van de bereikte resultaten
- Interne en externe rapportering, naar projectpartners, subsidiërende instanties
- Valorisatie van de projectresultaten bij de gebruikersgroep (bedrijfsbezoek, workshop,…)
- Initiëring en begeleiding van de publicatie/verspreiding/applicatie van de projectresultaten
Profielbeschrijving:
Noodzakelijke kennis en ervaring:
- Kennis en ervaring in chemische analyse of levensmiddelenanalyse, in het bijzonder met technieken op basis van LC-MS/MS en solid-phase extractie
- Ervaring met de ontwikkeling en validatie van analysemethoden
- Kennis en ervaring met polymeerchemie is een pluspunt
- Interdisciplinaire onderzoek (polymeerchemie, levensmiddelenanalyse)

Description
We are currently looking for a post-doctoral researcher to be involved in the EU Seventh Framework Programme, Research for SME Associations, “Rapid Biosensor for the Detection of Mycotoxin in Wheat” (acr. MYCOHUNT). The research task attributed to Ghent University, consists of monoclonal antibody development for mycotoxins, with special focus on deoxynivalenol. The post-doctoral researcher will be leading the work package on monoclonal antibody development and will be supervising a PhD student working in this same work package.
Profile
Candidates will have obtained or submitted their PhD and will have a proven track record of high-quality research and experience in monoclonal antibody development for low weight molecules (haptens). Experience with mice experiments is necessary. The candidates show a passion for science and outstanding skills to work in a team, together with international researchers in the frame of a European research project.

Van zondag 22 november tot donderdag 26 november 2009 van 10h30 tot 19h00 vindt de 21ste editie van de HORECA EXPO plaats in Flanders Expo te Gent.
De Associatieonderzoeksgroep MYTOX zal eveneens aanwezig zijn in hal 1 op stand 1743 van Food2Know om de lopende projecten voor te stellen.
De Associatieonderzoeksgroep is een lid van Food2Know. Deze laatste is een organisatie van meer dan 30 laboratoria die verspreid zijn over vijf verschillende faculteiten, het instituut voor Landbouw en Visserij onderzoek (ILVO) en de Hogescholen. Via Food2Know kunnen bedrijven, zowel KMO’s als grotere industriële spelers, of overheidsinstellingen rechtstreeks toegang krijgen tot expertisen en beschikbare geavanceerdebeschikbare apparatuur voor zowel het uitvoeren van routine-analysen, als voor wetenschappelijk of zakelijk advies, of voor het opzetten van onderzoeksprojecten.
De moeite waard een bezoek te brengen!
Op dinsdag 17 november 2009 van 13h30 tot 17h00 vindt de Dag van het Onderzoek plaats in het Pand, Onderbergen 1 te Gent.
Op dit initiatief van de Associatie Universiteit Gent is ook de Associatieonderzoeksgroep aanwezig !
Hierbij worden, onder het thema Milieu & Gezondheid, twee van onze huidige onderzoeksonderwerpen voorgesteld, in het kader van de onderzoekslijn rond nieuwe analytische uitdagingen

– Gemaskeerde mycotoxinen : het analyseren van gemaskeerde “masked” mycotoxinen

“Op 1 augustus 2009 werd het BOF Associatieonderzoeksproject opgestart rond een nieuwe analytische uitdaging voor mycotoxinebepaling: Gemaskeerde (‘masked’) mycotoxinen. Geconjugeerde mycotoxinen zijn toxines die gebonden zijn aan polaire substanties zoals suikers. Gezien deze aan de klassieke analytische technieken ontsnappen worden ze ook wel gemaskeerde mycotoxinen genoemd.
